Synopsis: From #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover, a new novel about risking everything for love—and finding your heart somewhere between the truth and lies.
At age twenty-one, Auburn Reed has already lost everything important to her. In her fight to rebuild her shattered life, she has her goals in sight and there is no room for mistakes. But when she walks into a Dallas art studio in search of a job, she doesn’t expect to find a deep attraction to the enigmatic artist who works there, Owen Gentry.
For once, Auburn takes a chance and puts her heart in control, only to discover that Owen is keeping a major secret from coming out. The magnitude of his past threatens to destroy everything important to Auburn, and the only way to get her life back on track is to cut Owen out of it.
To save their relationship, all Owen needs to do is confess. But in this case, the confession could be much more destructive than the actual sin.

This is my sixth Colleen Hoover book that I have read, but this one is definitely one of my favorite. Hoover has an amazing ability to know the PERFECT moment to reveal shocking plot events, which pulls the reader farther into the story. Auburn and Owen’s chemistry is felt from the very first page, but of course, there is heartbreak sewn within the pages of this book – done so, in such a perfect manner that only Colleen Hoover could pull it off. The dramatic plot reveals were captivating and made me unable to put this book down. Hoover’s books are always so unique and this one isn’t any different.
While the beginning of the book (first 10-20 pages) were a little confusing due to Hoover withholding key plot information, the reader quickly forgets about this, as you are pulled into Auburn and Owen’s story (she also reveals the plot information, giving the reading a big “oohhh” moment).
Something that made the book stand out was the fact that pictures of paintings mentioned in the text, were included in the book! I felt this gave the reader a really good visual of the paintings that were tightly tied to the plot and helped the reader to understand the story.
All in all, this was a great and unique book and a must-read for any Colleen Hoover fans, as well as fans of the New Adult Romance genre.
