This is the story for people who follow their hearts and make their own rules…people who get special pleasure out of doing something well, even if only for themselves…people who know there’s more to this living than meets the eye: they’ll be right there with Jonathan, flying higher and faster than they ever dreamed.

A pioneering work that wed graphics with words, Jonathan Livingston Seagull now enjoys a whole new life.

* * *

Jonathan Livingston Seagull is one of my all-time favourite books. It is a beautifully written metaphorical piece about the importance of always pushing your boundaries and learning everything and anything. This complete and revised edition – including a new fourth part – expands on Jonathan Livingston Seagull’s story and dedication to learning and challenging himself to new things.

Part four jumps in time 200 years, when Johnathan Livingston Seagull’s life and legacy is just a memory, one that people regard as saint like, but unattainable. One increasingly curious gull goes in search of attaining the skills that Jonathan Livingston Seagull once attained through practice and dedication. What he finds is truly exceptional.

This forth part adds more to the already inspiring story of Jonathan Livingston Seagull showing what legacy he left behind. While it was a nice ending and conclusion to the Jonathan Livingston Seagull story, it was not necessary to the story that was perfect on its own. This doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy reading about the everlasting influence Jonathan Livingston Seagull had on the gull community.
