Paperback: 250 pages
Publisher: Heidi McLaughlin (Dec 26 2012)
Synopsis: I was never supposed to be a rock star. I had my life all planned out for me. Play football in college. Go to the NFL. Marry my high school sweetheart and live happily ever after. I broke both our hearts that day when I told her I was leaving. I was young. I made the right decision for me, but the wrong decision for us. I’ve poured my soul into my music, but I’ve never forgotten her. Her smell, her smile. And now I’m going back. After ten years. I hope I can explain that after all this time. I still want her to be my forever girl.

I picked up this book originally after seeing the trailer for the movie… And I am so happy I did. 1) because I really want to see the movie and I HAVE TO read the book before seeing the movie and 2) because it was a really enjoyable book!
Forever My Girl is the first in Heidi McLaughlin’s contemporary romance series that takes place in the small town on Beaumont. Right from the start I loved the setting of this book – it is a small and peaceful town where everyone knows everyone. It is the type of towns that can be hard to find, especially for people who live in a big city, and I find reading about books in these settings always enjoyable.
Liam and Josie were high school sweethearts but they were separated when life got in the way. After a tragic event, Liam returns home to Beaumont and to Josie – but she isn’t waiting with open arms. This is a story of second chances and of true love – if you like fairy tale-like books, then this is the book for you. Forever My Girl was a very easy read and kept me interested the entire way through, even though it was a little predictable. I am excited to start reading the other books in this series, which follow other characters from Beaumont.
Mostly, I am super excited to be able to go see the movie now. Any feedback on what the movie is like? Share below!
