Too Late is a novel that Colleen Hoover wrote on her own time, and published on Wattpad for her fans to read – now available as an ebook on amazon and in a self-published hardcopy. There is a disclaimer at the start of the book, where Hoover states she has not intention of ever publishing this book and that it was just written during her own free time. Thank you Colleen!!!
The story focuses on the female protagonist, Sloan, who is stuck in an unhappy, but dependant, relationship with her partying and drug dealing boyfriend, Asa (and let me just say: he is so creepy, I think I will forever remember his character for that reason alone!). Enter Carter, a boy she immediately bonds with, but he is hiding a big secret. Getting close to Carter could put both their lives in danger, but neither can seem to avoid each other.
The suspense and intrigue in this novel pulled me in right away. The characters, like all of Colleen Hoover’s characters, walk off the page and come to life as you read. The chemistry between Sloan and Carter – OMG AMAZING! True CoHo style!
Like I said earlier, it was a little darker than her other books, but I found this made the story more suspenseful – there were literally times I was holding my breath while I read! I really enjoyed this book, but I would stick strong to the disclaimer that this book shouldn’t be read by a younger audience due to the mature content. Definitely in my top 5 Colleen Hoover books!
