Synopsis: A missing girl on a journey of revenge and a Serial—like podcast following the clues she’s left behind.
Sadie hasn’t had an easy life. Growing up on her own, she’s been raising her sister Mattie in an isolated small town, trying her best to provide a normal life and keep their heads above water.
But when Mattie is found dead, Sadie’s entire world crumbles. After a somewhat botched police investigation, Sadie is determined to bring her sister’s killer to justice and hits the road following a few meager clues to find him.
When West McCray—a radio personality working on a segment about small, forgotten towns in America—overhears Sadie’s story at a local gas station, he becomes obsessed with finding the missing girl. He starts his own podcast as he tracks Sadie’s journey, trying to figure out what happened, hoping to find her before it’s too late.
Courtney Summers has written the breakout book of her career. Sadie is propulsive and harrowing and will keep you riveted until the last page.

BLOG TOUR: I am so excited to be apart of the SADIE by Courtney Summers Blog Tour – follow my fellow bloggers as well to get the full tour experience!
Sadie is a story of nineteen year old Sadie and her quest to find justice for her little sisters death. Told in alternating point of views, Sadie’s and West (a radio personality who is following her and conducting a podcast series), Sadie is a relevant and modern thriller that will appeal to a much wider audience than just Young Adults or New Adult readers.
As the story unfolds and Sadie’s character starts to develop, the reader learns more about this stuttering nineteen year old who is on a quest to kill her sister’s killer – but there is so much more to her than meets the eye. The character development in this book was so strong and it really supported the plot development.
Courtney Summers may as well be the queen of plot twists as she throws in some doozies that will leave you reeling and unable to put the book down! Her writing is beautiful and the change in styles from paragraph form to podcast script form was entertaining and masterfully. At times the book sounds like a literary classic with the way Summers strings together beautifully metaphorical sentences.
This book has become my favourite Courtney Summers book AND thriller book to date – the mystery, the writing, the plot line, the characters… this book had everything going for it.
Sadie by Courtney Summers is on sale September 4, 2018 from Wednesday Books – available where books are sold.

Sleep Less, Read More: Sadie is such a unique book character. Where did your inspiration for Sadie’s character come from?
Courtney: Thank you! I was really compelled to write about a devoted older sister, one who was tough, reckless and had nothing to lose—one motivated by unconditional love. And I think that’s largely what inspired Sadie, for me, thinking of a girl who was so purely driven by love and the lengths it would cause her to go to.
